How to get to Valle Nevado?

To get to Valle Nevado you must travel the 46 kilometers that separate it from Santiago, taking the paved road 32 kilometers to Farellones until the turnoff to Valle Nevado. From there, you must drive another 14 kilometers to the ski center.
It is a road with many curves, so it is recommended to drive with caution. During the winter you must use snow chains and the transit is limited, being from 8:00 to 14:00 hours uphill; and from 14:00 to 20:00 hours only downhill.

When does the ski season begin in Valle Nevado?

The ski season in Valle Nevado begins in June and runs through September, even in October in the case of heavy snow.
It is considered high season on the weekends, winter break (second and third week of July), Independence Day holiday (week of the 18th and 19th of September) and holidays.
Mid-season is from Monday to Friday in July, September and October; except the days that are considered high season.
Low season is all other dates not listed, which are June and August; except holidays and public holidays.

What are the schedules in Valle Nevado?

Valle Nevado is open Monday through Friday, excluding holidays; and you can go up and down all day.
Saturday, Sunday and holidays; you can go up between 8:00 AM and 1:00 PM and downhill between 4:00 PM and 10:00 PM. Between 8:00 PM and 8:00 AM there is no restriction of schedule.

There are several shops in Valle Nevado in addition to the Valle Nevado Store, where you can buy all sorts of ski souvenirs or gifts, snow clothes, casual and outdoor.
This shop is open every day of the year. The hours are between 10:00 AM and 6:00 AM.
During the winter, in Valle Nevado you can find shops like: North Face, Columbia, Burton, Top Ski, Three Monkey Eyewear, Billabong and Havanna.

Are there other recommendations to visit Valle Nevado?

In Valle Nevado, it is highly recommended to always use caution when skiing and it is essential to know some basic rules of winter sports.
The skier in front of you always has the preference and it is the responsibility of who is behind him/her to not crash. You also shouldn't stop on the trail, as this hinders traffic.
It is very important to only ski on marked trails, exception for those skilled in techniques that can venture into the virgin snow.
You should always maintain a safe distance from other skiers and objects, and to brake at all times.
Descending or before a trail junction, always look forward and yield when necessary.
