• Sunday Night Cocktail Party

  We invite our guests to join owner Henry Purcell and the Portillo hotel team at our welcome cocktail party every Sunday night at 8:15pm This party is great opportunity for our guests to meet the other guests, the Ski School and the rest of our hospitality team.

• Ski Talks:

  Ski School Director Mike Rogan gives talks about ski equipment or ski techniques every Sunday night at 7pm in the cinema. Guests always enjoy these talks and find them very worthwhile.

• Sol de Portillo Race:

  Every Thursday Portillo holds a ski/snowboard race for guests called the Sol de Portillo. This event can be enjoyed as much by beginners as by experts. We recommend that guests join in the fun, which culminates with a lively awards ceremony in the evening.

• Discotheque:

  Portillo Hotel disco features a bar, lounge and dance floor. The disco starts around midnight and stays open until the last guest leaves. Some nights the disco simply ignites!

• Torchlight Parade:

  On Friday nights the Ski School entertains our guests with a torchlight parade. This is a not-to-be-missed event, seen from the outside deck or from the heated pool.

• Cinema / TV Room:

  We show a different film each day in the cinema. In the afternoons the cinema is used to show videos of our guests skiing or snowboarding during their classes or racing in the weekly Sol de Portillo race; members of the Ski School are present to provide commentary about ski technique. TV is also available here during certain hours. Ski School Director Mike Rogan uses the cinemas for Ski Talks.

• Heliskiing:

  Portillo counts with a helicopter for heliski. This service is open from july to september and the helicopter can take four passengers to the snow of the summit

• Fitness Facilities:

  Weight Room, Aerobics/Yoga Salon , Multi-court Gymnasium: Exercise facilities exceed expectations. We have a large gymnasium for football (soccer), basketball or volleyball, and each week there are some organized sports tournaments. We also have a weight room with treadmills, bicycles, stair climbers and Universal equipment. We have a separate studio room for yoga, aerobics classes, stretching and tae bo.

• Cybercafé and Library:

  Compaq computers, a scanner, color printers and internet connections are available to guests. As well, we offer a collection of books in a variety of languages.

• Beauty Center, Spa Facilities and Swimming Pool:

  Portillo's Beauty Center offers haircuts, styling, manicures, depilation and make-up application. Guests' spa experience is complete with our sauna, massage facilities and an outdoor heated swimming pool.

• Retail Store and Rental Shop:

  The ski shop carries the latest in equipment, ski wear, accessories, gifts and a complete line of Portillo hotel clothing and goods. Rental ski and snowboard equipment by Rossignol is available in the rental shop, as are ski tuning services. Performance rentals are available.

• Game Room:

  Our large game room is for all ages, and features pool tables, ping-pong tables, video games and foosball. Ice cream, soda and candy are available.

• Mass:

  Catholic Mass is held in the cinema every Sunday.

• Ski clinic:

  Every year many ski and snowboard experts visit Portillo and organize Ski and Snowboard Clinics, where they teach their techniques and the visitors can participate

• Private Parties:

  Many of our guests enjoy throwing private parties. Portillo hotel has wonderful facilities for such parties such as a starlight dinner at Tío Bob's, a sushi dinner, cocktail party in the disco, or a down n' dirty dancing bash in the Posada. Romantic dinners for two (engagement, honeymoon, anniversary or simple romance) can also be arranged. Our events coordinators can make the arrangements easily, even after the guest has arrived at the ski resort.
